Phrygian Mode presents a series of coal drawings by Timo Vaittinen reproduced as Risograph prints. Drawings are loosely based on the form of a phrygian hat. Phrygian hat was a symbol of freedom in the french revolution and as pileus hats worn by freedmen in ancient Rome. Hats resembling phrygian hats are worn by the Smurfs, christmas elves, catholic bishops and Jaques Cousteau, also a psychedelic mushroom, liberty cap, is named after the form of phrygian hat.
